There were in total 16 constituencies where INC had low winning/losing margin. Among these seats, the party won 10 and faced defeat in 6 of them. In both winning and losing constituencies, the margin remained below 4%. All the constituencies in losing cause were lost to BJP.
With state elections just around the corner, INC would like to further consolidate its number of seats by converting these low-margin losses into wins to return to power.
