There were in total 17 constituencies where BJP had low winning/losing margin. Among these seats, the party won 6 and faced defeat in 11 of them. In both winning and losing constituencies, the margin remained below 4%. In the losing constituencies, it was defeated by INC in 10 seats while 1 seat was lost to IND.
With state elections just around the corner, BJP would like to further consolidate its position by converting these low-margin losses into wins and regain power in the hill state.
