Location
Jashipur assembly constituency is located in Mayurbhanj district and consists of:
Jashipur block, Raruan block, Sukruli block and 9 GPs (Badhatnabeda, Chuapani, Dhangdimuta, Hatbadra, Jarada, Jhipabandh, Talapati, Tolakpokhari and Uparbeda) of Kusumi block.[2][3] Many villages consisting of small clusters of houses are located near Jashipur like Kanjipia, Keunjhar etc.

Voter Turnout

During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 190778 nd the turnout stood at 80.20%, in real numbers- 153003 voters. 2019 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 210008 electors, 75.27% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-158074 voters.
Representation and Results

2019’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Ganesh Ram sing Khuntia gained a vote share of 37.10% and defeated BJD’s Golakbihari Nayak whose vote share stood at 31.70%. The remaining candidates in the fray were SUCI’s Shambhu Nath Naik with 20.80% of vote share and INC’s Mahendra Nath Nayak with 5.70% vote share.
Voting History -2014 & 2019


In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 39440 votes and 50156 votes in 2019. On the other hand, BJP garnered 24319 votes in 2014 and 58708 votes in 2019 while SUCI received 33646 votes in 2014 and 32937 votes in 2019. INC got 9039 votes in the 2019 elections. BJP dominated the district of Baleshwar in 2019 by winning 6 seats. BJD managed to secure 3 seats.
