Kendrapara assembly constituency is located in Kendrapara district and consists of:  

Kendrapara, Kendrapara block and 12 Gram panchayats (Alapua, Taradipal, Penthapal, Andara, Baluria, Amrutamanohi, Nilakanthapur, Balipatana, Narasinghpur, Badamulabasanta, Dihapada and Singhagan) of Pattamundai block.

During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 197217and the turnout stood at 70.27%, in real numbers- 138583 voters. 2019 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 217513 electors, 67.15% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-146053 voters.

2019’s assembly election winner, Shashi Bhusan Behera gained a vote share of 43.80% and defeated INC’s Ganeswar Behera whose vote share stood at 39.50%. The remaining candidates in the fray were BJP’s Sunakar Behera with 15.20% fo vote share and BSP’s Ranjan Kumar Mallik with 0.60% vote share.

District-Wise Electoral Results

In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 65037 votes and 63966 votes in 2019. On the other hand, INC garnered 59606 votes in 2014 and 57646 votes in 2019 while BJP received 9981 votes in 2014 and 22141 votes in 2019. BSP got 1645 votes in 2014 and 866 votes in 2019. BJD completely dominated the district of Kendrapara in 2019 by winning all 5 seats.  ,
