Voter Turnout
During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 197299 and the turnout stood at 78.47%, in real numbers- 154757 voters. 2019 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 213830 electors, 75.47% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-161385 voters.
Representation and Results
2019’s assembly election winner, BJD’s Prasanta Kumar Muduli gained a vote share of 43.50 % and defeated INC’s Chiranjib Biswal whose vote share stood at 38.10%. The remaining candidates in the fray were BJP’s Satyabrata Mohapatra with 17.80% and BSP’s Parina Bibi with 0.40% vote share.
Voting History -2014 & 2019
In 2014, INC won the constituency and earned 67067 votes and 61474 votes in 2019. On the other hand, BJD garnered 64179 votes in 2014 and 70116 votes in 2019 while BJP received 7058 votes in 2014 and 28639 votes in 2019. BSP got 558 votes in the 2019 elections. BJD completely dominated the district of Jagatsinghpur in 2019 by winning all 4 seats.
