Voter Turnout
During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 220170 and the turnout stood at 72.54%, in real numbers- 159711 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 252511 electors, 71.88% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-181508.
Representation and Results
2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s C. K. Raulji gained a vote share of 41.40% and defeated INC’s Parmar Rajendrasinh Balvantsinh (Lalabhai) whose vote share stood at 41.26%. The remaining candidate in the fray was independent candidate Parmar Jashvantsinh Salamsinh with 10.39% Vote share. 1.68% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017
In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 73367 votes that increased to 74891 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BJP garnered 70499 votes in 2012 and 75149 votes to win in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Panchmahal in 2017 by winning 4 seats. 1 seat went to an independent candidate.
