Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 181335 and the turnout stood at 66.71%, in real numbers- 120973 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 210654 electors, 62.31% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-131258 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Katara Rameshbhai Bhurabhai gained a vote share of 45.90% and defeated INC’s Machhar Raghubhai Ditabhai whose vote share stood at 43.84%. The remaining candidate in the fray was NCP’s Prabhubhai Kaljibhai Baria with 2.09% Vote share. 3.48% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017


In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 57828 votes that increased to 60250 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 51564 votes in 2012 and 57539 votes in 2017. NCP got 2747 votes in 2017. Both BJP and INC won 3 seats each in the district of Dahod in 2017.
