During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 204834 and the turnout stood at 79.30%, in real numbers- 162426 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 226287 electors, 78.74% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-178188 voters.

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Arvind Chhotubhai Patel gained a vote share of 53.28% and defeated INC’s Ishvarbhai Dhedabhai Patel whose vote share stood at 40.80%. The remaining candidate in the fray was BSP’s Patel Laxmanbhai Chunilal with 1.44% Vote share. 2.08% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 82319 votes which decreased to 72698 votes in 2017. BJP garnered 67021 votes in 2012 and 94944 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Valsad in 2017 by winning 4 seats. INC scored 1 seat.
