Voter Turnout
During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 206506 and the constituency recorded 81.48% of polling, in real numbers- 168251 voters. 2019 witnessed a slight decrease in turnout; out of the 230717electors, 80.03% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-184650 voters.
Representation and Results
2019’s assembly election winner, BJD’s Susanta Singh gained a vote share of 53.40% and defeated BJP’s Irasis Acharya whose vote share stood at 40.90%. The remaining candidates in the fray were INC’s Saroj Kumar Mahapatra with 4.50% of vote share and BSP’s Narayan Vesra with 0.60% vote share.
Voting History -2014 & 2019
In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 75077 votes and 98666 votes in 2019. On the other hand, BJP garnered 20316 votes in 2014 and 75434 votes in 2019 while INC received 10506 votes in 2014 and 8375 votes in 2019. BSP got 1167 votes in the 2019 elections. BJD completely dominated the district of Bargarh in 2019 by winning all 5 seats.
