Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 181438 and the turnout stood at 70.32%, in real numbers- 127590 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 208640 electors, 68.09% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-142061 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Dindor Kuberbhai Mansukhbhai gained a vote share of 48.12% and defeated INC’s Damor Gendalbhai Motibhai whose vote share stood at 43.60%. The remaining candidate in the fray was NCP’s Valavai Rajendrakumar Babalbhai (Raju Valavai) with 1.67% vote share. 2.12% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017


In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 68026 votes that saw a decrease in 2017 to 61938 votes and led to party’s defeat. On the other hand, BJP garnered 42372 votes in 2012 and 68362 votes to gain the seat in 2017. NCP got 2378 votes in 2017. Both BJP and INC won 1 seat each while the remaining 1 seat went to an independent candidate in the district of Mahi Sagar in 2017.
