The 2017 verdict was clearly in BJP’s favour. The BJP won 57 seats in the 70-member Assembly, while Congress secured only 11 seats and other parties got only two seats. The then Chief Minister, Harish Rawat was defeated both at Hardwar Rural and Kichha assembly seats. The 2022 election sees AAP as a new entrant hoping to leave its mark.
