The fifth phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections covered 61 constituencies from 12 districts. Around 2.24 crore voters exercised their rights to decide the date of 692 candidates, including the current Deputy Chief Minister, Keshav Prasad Maurya.
Back in 2017, out of 61 seats up for grabs, 50 were bagged by the ruling BJP and its ally Apna Dal (S) of Anupriya Patel. SP won five seats, two by BSP, one by INC and two independents- six times MLA- Raja Bhaiyya from Kunda and Vinod Saroj from Babaganj.

With the end of the 5th Phase, voters of UP have made their decisions for 292 seats out of 403. The remaining seats will go to the polls on 3rd and 7th March.
