In the 2022 Punjab elections, there were in total 18 constituencies where INC had low winning/losing margin. Among these seats, the party won 10 seats whereas it went on to lose 8 seats. In both winning and losing constituencies, the margin remained less than 5%. In the losing constituencies, it was defeated by AAP in 6 while it lost 2 seats to SAD.
INC must devise proper plans to convert low-margin losses into wins if it were to have any chance in the next elections.
