During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 181109 and the turnout stood at 70.97%, in real numbers- 128541 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 206403 electors, 66.05% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-136326 voters.

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Vaja Babubhai Kalabhai gained a vote share of 52.56% and defeated BJP’s Kargatiya Bhagvanjibhai Lakhabhai whose vote share stood at 42.35%. The remaining candidate in the fray was independent candidate Chandegara Sanjaykumar Kantibhai with 1.42% vote share. 1.35% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 68452 votes that decreased to 57740 votes and cost party the election in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 52738 votes in 2012 and 71654 votes to win in 2017. INC dominated the district of Junagadh in 2017 by winning 4 seats. BJP managed to scored 2 seats.
