During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 189642 and the turnout stood at 82.17%, in real numbers- 155826 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 215498 electors, 77.90% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-167878 voters.

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Bhuriya Shivabhai Amrabhai gained a vote share of 47.91% and defeated BJP’s Chauhan Keshaji Shivaji whose vote share stood at 47.33%. The remaining candidate in the fray was BMUP’s Hiraji Prahladji Vaghela with 1.22% Vote share. 1.78% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 76265 votes and 79460 votes in 2017.  INC garnered 55456 votes in 2012 and 80432 votes in 2017. INC dominated the district of Banaskantha in 2017 by winning 15 seats. BJP and IND scored 3 seats and 1 seat respectively.
