Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 177139 and the constituency recorded a voter turnout that stood at 78.12%, in real numbers- 138376 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 199486 electors, 75.58% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-150763 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Punambhai Madhabhai Parmar gained a vote share of 48.04% and defeated BJP’s Patel Vipulkumar Vinubhai whose vote share stood at 46.45%. The remaining candidate in the fray was independent candidate Vhora Bilal M. with 1.10% vote share. 2.06% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 65210 votes that increased to 72423 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BJP 65048 garnered votes in 2012 and 70035 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Anand in 2017 by winning 5 seats. INC scored 2 seats.
