Voter Turnout
During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 206391 and the constituency witnessed a voter turnout that stood at 74.85%, in real numbers- 154493 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 233401 electors, 72.97% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-170318 voters.
Representation and Results
2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Ahir(Bharwad) Jethabhai Ghelabhai gained a vote share of 58.94% and defeated INC’s Chauhan Dushyantsinh Narvatsinh whose vote share stood at 34.83%. The remaining candidate in the fray was SHS’s Gadhavi Lalabhai Gangdasbhai with 1.33% vote share. 2.99% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017
In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 76468 votes that increased to 100383 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 47743 votes in 2012 and 59314 votes in 2017. SHS got 2268 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Panchmahal in 2017 by winning 4 seats. The remaining 1 seat was won by an independent candidate.
