In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-54,005 voters.

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Nand Lal gained a vote share of 47.64% and defeated BJP’s Prem Singh Daraik whose vote share stood at 40.17%. The other prominent candidates in the fray were CPI(M)’s Vivek Kashyap with 2.45% and the independent candidate Singhi Ram with 7.04% of vote share.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 27,925 votes and 25,730 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BJP garnered 18,454 votes in 2012 and 21,693 votes in 2017. CPI(M) received 1,325 votes in the 2017 elections. INC dominated the district of Shimla in 2017 by winning 4 seats. BJP came victorious in 3 seats whereas 1 seat went to CPI(M).
