Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 201298 and the constituency recorded a voter of 66.59%, in real numbers- 134039 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 225272 electors, 62.15% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-140009 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Devabhai Punjabhai Malam gained a vote share of 51.01% and defeated INC’s Jayeshkumar Valjibhai Ladani whose vote share stood at 43.30%. The remaining candidate in the fray was NCP’s Khimanandbhai Govindbhai Jarer with 0.82% vote share. 1.06% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017


In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 53772 votes that increased to 71425 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 45835 votes in 2012 and 60619 votes in 2017. NCP got 1155 votes in 2017. INC emerged as the leading party in the district of Junagadh in 2017 by winning 4 seats while BJP managed to claim the remaining 1 seat.
