Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 231603 and the constituency recorded a voter turnout of 62.04%, in real numbers- 143695 voters. 2017 witnessed a slight decrease in turnout; out of the 256321 electors, 61.38% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-157325 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Joshi Bhikhabhai Galabhai gained a vote share of 48.85% and defeated BJP’s Mashru Mahendrabhai Liladharbhai whose vote share stood at 44.98%. The remaining candidate in the fray was BSP’s Chovatiya Dhanajibhai Jasmatbhai with 0.76% Vote share. 1.26% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017


In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 66669 votes that did increase to 70766 votes in 2017 but proved insufficient to retain the seat. On the other hand, INC garnered 52873 votes in 2012 and 76850 votes to win in 2017 elections. BSP secured 1194 votes in 2017. INC dominated the district of Junagadh in 2017 by winning 4 seats. BJP scored 1 seat.
