Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 183272 and the turnout stood at 65.10%, in real numbers- 119310 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 203724 electors, 55.94% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers it translates to 113967 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Nakrani Keshubhai Hirjibhai gained a vote share of 44.43% and defeated INC’s Kheni Pareshbhai Manjibhai whose vote share stood at 42.78%. The remaining candidate in the fray was GJCP’s Chavada Manubhai Parsottambhai candidate with 5.83% Vote share. 1.37% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 53377 votes that decreased to 50635 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 37349 votes in 2012 and 48759 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Bhavnagar in 2017 by 6 seats. INC had to settle with only 1 seat.
