Voter Turnout
During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 242147 and the turnout stood at 71.88%, in real numbers- 174045 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 311615 electors, 72.30% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers it translates into 225303 voters.
Representation and Results
2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Babubhai Jamnadas Patel gained a vote share of 56.56% and defeated INC’s Patel Pankajbhai Chimanbhai whose vote share stood at 36.56%. The remaining candidate in the fray was independent candidate Shrimali Nileshkumar Rameshbhai with 1.00% Vote share. 2.14% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 95813 votes and 127432 votes in 2017. INC garnered 58180 votes in 2012 and 82367 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Ahmedabad in 2017 by winning 15 seats. INC scored 6 seats.
