During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 71,411 and the turnout stood at 64.30%, in real numbers- 45,915 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 75,689 electors, 68.26% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-51,669 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Kamlesh Kumari gained a vote share of 54.12% and defeated INC’s Suresh Kumar whose vote share stood at 40.78%. The other prominent candidate in the fray was BSP’s Praveen Kaushal with 0.95% vote share. 0.70% Of votes were under NOTA.
