Bilaspur assembly constituency is located in the Bilaspur district and is a part of the Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency.
Designated as a General Constituency.
During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 71,367 and the turnout stood at 71.15%, in real numbers- 50,778 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 77,244 electors, 76.44% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-59,046 voters.
Representation and Results
2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Subhash Thakur gained a vote share of 53.43% and defeated INC’s Bumber Thakur whose vote share stood at 41.81%. The other prominent candidate in the fray was an independent Basant Ram Sandhu with 2.20% vote share. 0.55% Of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 24,347 votes and 24.685 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BJP garnered 19,206 votes in 2012 and 31,547 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Bilaspur in 2017 by winning 3 seats. The remaining 1 seat was secured by INC.
