During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors were 2,21,286 and the turnout stood at 76.23%, in real numbers- 1,68,688 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 2,58,637 electors, 63.13% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. A rare decline in real numbers -1,63,272 voters.

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Parasottambhai gained a vote share of 54.85% and defeated INC’s Kantibhai Tapubhai whose vote share stood at 35.87%. The remaining candidate in the fray was independent candidate Solanki Vicky with 1.31 % vote share. 2.12% votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 83,980 votes which increased to 89,555 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 65,426 votes in 2012 and 58,562 votes in the 2017 elections. BJP gained 6 seats and INC scored the remaining single seat in the district of Bhavnagar.
