Voter Turnout

During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 198753, and the turnout stood at 76.07%, in real numbers- 151192 voters. 2019 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 218045 electors, 72.03% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-157064 voters.
Representation and Results

2019’s assembly election winner, BJD’s Rajanikant Singh gained a vote share of 41.60% and defeated BJP’s Pratap Chandra Pradhan whose vote share stood at 36.00%. The remaining candidates in the fray were INC’s Biplap Kumar Jena with 19.50% vote share and APOI’s Anil Bhoi with 0.70% of vote share.
Voting History -2014 & 2019


In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 72379 votes and 65338 votes in 2019. On the other hand, INC garnered 52036 votes in 2014 and 30572 votes in 2019 while BJP got 19948 votes in 2014 and 56565 votes in 2019. APOI got 1060 votes in 2019 elections. BJD completely dominated the district of Angul in 2019 by winning all 5 seats.
