In the 2017 elections, there were 27 seats where INC’s winning margin was way ahead of the average winning margin in all seats thus earning the stronghold constituencies tag. However, the 2022 elections witnessed a swing in all these seats to other parties. AAP managed to secure all of these constituencies but 1 constituency, which was won by the BJP.
INC’s performance in 2022 was a poor show, to say the least. But it had managed to become the main opposition party and is well equipped with the means and resources to make a comeback in the next elections.
