Out of 8 seats where SAD was the winner in the last two elections, 5 seats were won by AAP and 3 seats went to INC in the 2022 assembly elections.
The party had its winning margin started thinning in the 2017 elections in all but 2 seats. In 2022 it lost 3 seats where the losing margin was more than 10%.
In terms of vote share, all 8 constituencies witnessed a continuous decline in it since the 2012 elections.
SAD faced an uphill task and if it wants to have any chance of surmounting the obstacles ahead then it must diligently take stock of the situation and come up with a strategy more attuned to public opinion.
