The last three election results saw a varied margin trend in BJD’s winning margin in 26 constituencies. The trend marked a winning margin increase in 2014 from 2009 and a decrease in 2019 in all of these constituencies. In total there were 16 constituencies where the winning margin difference between 2014 and 2019 was more than 10%. BJP came 1st runner up in 22 of these constituencies and will be targeting these seats as its best bet to consolidate its number of seats in the state.
