Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 204605 and the constituency recorded a 74.48% of polling, in real numbers- 152380 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 244664 electors, 75.42% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-184530 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Pirzada Mahamadjavid Abdulmutalib gained a vote share of 39.34% and defeated BJP’s Jitendra Kantilal Somani (Jitu Somani) whose vote share stood at 38.60%. The remaining candidates in the fray were independent candidate Gordhanbhai Polabhai Saravaiya with 13.84% vote share and BSP’s Bloch Mustakbhai Gulmahmadbhai with 1.77% of the vote share.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 59038 votes that increased to 72588 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BJP garnered 53727 votes in 2012 and 71227 votes in 2017. BSP got 3271 votes in 2017 elections. INC clean swept the district of Morbi in 2017 by winning all 3 seats.
