Kaiserganj is one of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. It comprises 5 assembly constituencies and 2 districts.
The Kaiserganj seat came into existence in 1952 and ABHM emerged as the winner that year. In the 1957 election, the INC won the followed by SWA winning the party in the 1962 elections. The next two elections of 1967 and 1971 were won by BJS and the party remained in power till 1977 when it lost to JP in that year. The INC managed to win back-to-back election in 1980 & 1984.

BJP came to power in the constituency for the first time in 1989 and went on to win the next election in 1991 as well. From 1996 to 2014, SP dominated the constituency winning 5 elections during the period.
BJP managed to halt SP’s chariot of victory by winning the 2014 election followed by consecutive victory in the 2019 elections.

In terms of success rate, it’s SP that enjoyed the maximum success with 29% closely followed by BJP at 24%. INC’s success rate stands at 18% while BJS managed to achieve 12% of success rate.
