There were 117 seats in contention for the 16th assembly elections in Punjab. The AAP party came to power with 92 seats, while INC managed to win 18 seats, SAD won 3 seats and 2 seats went to BJP. BSP and IND registered win in 1 seat each. AAP swept the polls in the 2022 elections but opposition parties, especially the grand old party SAD, will aim at a revival in the state with a well-rounded strategy that is more attuned to public opinion in the next elections.
