In the 2022 Punjab elections, there were in total 9 constituencies where SAD had low winning/losing margin. It managed to win only 2 seats and lost the other 7 seats. In both winning and losing constituencies, the margin remained less than 5%. In the losing 7 constituencies, it was defeated by INC in 4 seats whereas it lost to AAP in 3 seats.
The SAD will be better placed if it focuses on constituencies where it lost with a low margin to swing more seats in its favor and consolidate its number of seats in the next elections.
