In the 2017 assembly elections, there were in total of 54 constituencies where the INC had a low winning/losing margin. And the margin in both losing and winning remained below 5%. It managed to win 30 seats out of these whereas it went on to lose the other 24 seats to BJP.
INC will be putting in efforts and allocating its resources at its disposal to not only retain close-won constituencies but convert narrowly lost constituencies into a win in the upcoming elections as well.
