Azamgarh is a Lok Sabha / Parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh and is located in Central India. It is designated as a general constituency.
In 2009, out of a total of 15,76,058 electors, 7,04,218 voters cast their ballots. Of the 8,51,966 male electors, 3,73,406 participated in the election, constituting a turnout rate of 44%. There were 7,24,092 female electors of that 3,30,812 chose to vote with a turnout rate of 46%.
In 2014, there are 17,03,222 people who are eligible to vote and 9,60,218 of them chose to exercise their right to vote. Out of these, 9,41,548 were male electors and 7,61,674 were female electors. 54% of male electors (5,04,787) and 60% of female electors (4,55,431) cast their ballots.

Out of 9,73,391 male electors, only 54% voted which is 5,23,819 male voters in real numbers. On the other hand, the voter turnout for females stood at 62% which translates to 5,01,829 voters out of a total of 8,15,708 female electors in real number.
