During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 178765 and the turnout stood at 63.31%, in real numbers- 113180 voters. 2019 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 209881 electors, 60.76% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-1,27528 voters.

2019’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Jaya Narayan Mishra gained a vote share of 45.00% and defeated BJD’s Dr. Rasewari Panigrahi whose vote share stood at 41.50%. The remaining candidates in the fray were INC’s Dr. Aswini Kumar Pujahari with 9.10% of vote share and BSP’s Dilip Singh with 1.60% vote share.

In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 48362 votes and 52969 votes in 2019. On the other hand, BJP garnered 38404 votes in 2014 and 57349 votes in 2019 while INC received 19020 votes in 2014 and 11652 votes in 2019. BSP got 2391 votes in 2014 and 2084 votes in 2019. BJP and BJD both won 2 seats each in the district of Sambalpur in 2019.
