Palitana assembly constituency is located in Bhavnagar district and consists of:

Designated as a General Constituency.
During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 223839 and the constituency recorded 70.79% polling. In real numbers- 158462 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 249837 electors, 60.47% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers it amounts to 151082 voters.
Representation and Results
2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Baraiya Bhikhabhai Ravajibhai gained a vote share of 45.99% and defeated INC’s Rathod Pravinbhai Jinabhai whose vote share stood at 36.60%. The remaining candidates in the fray were GJCP’s Gadhavi Pravinbhai Mulubhai with 5.15% vote share and AINHCP’s Rathod Bharatbhai Madhubhai 2.24% of vote share.
Voting History -2012 & 2017
In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 69396 votes which saw a decrease in 2017 to 55290 votes and cost the party election. On the other hand, BJP garnered 55071 votes in 2012 and 69479 votes to win in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Bhavnagar in 2017 by winning 6 seats. The remaining 1 seat was won by INC.
