Borsad assembly constituency is located in Anand district and consists of:  

Borsad Taluka (Part) Villages – Bhadran, Pamol, Kasumbad, Harkhapura, Bodal, Davol, Golel, Rudel, Nisaraya, Vasna ( Borsad), Kasari, Chuva, Uneli, Ranoli, Khanpur, Virsad, Jantral, Vasna ( Ras), Saijpur, Jharola, Vadeli, Alarsa, Pipli, Khedasa, Sisva, Ras, Amiyad, Banejda, Kandhroti, Kanbha, Divel, Kathol, Umlav, Valvod, Dhanavasi, Kinkhlod, Moti Sherdi, Nani Sherdi, Gorva, Kathana, Dali, Kalu, Badalpur, Kankapura, Dahewan, Salol, Gajana, Kothiya khad, Kavitha, Borsad (M), Vasna Borsad (INA). Bhadraniya, vachhiyel.[5]

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 2,11667 and the turnout stood at 73.64%, in real numbers- 1,55875 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 2,41957electors, 70.91% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-1,71570 voters.

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Parmar Rajendrasinh Dhirsinh gained a vote share of 50.27% and defeated BJP’s Ramanbhai Bhikhabhai whose vote share stood at 43.59%. The remaining candidate in the fray was independent candidate Parmar Rakeshkumar Parvinbhai with 1.13% Vote share. 1.27% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 83621 votes and 86254 votes in 2017. BJP garnered 62587 votes in 2012 and 74786 votes in 2017.  INC dominated the district of Anand in 2017 by winning 5 seats. BJP scored 2 seats.
