Bhubaneswar Central assembly constituency is located in Khordha district and consists of:
Ward No. 16 to 29 and 35 to 37 of Bhubaneswar.
Designated as a General Constituency.
During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 222337 and the turnout stood at 41.96%, in real numbers- 93285 voters. 2019 witnessed a slight increase in turnout; out of the 238535 electors, 42.10% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers it was a reasonable jump-100423 voters.
Representation and Results
2019’s assembly election winner, BJD’s Ananta Narayan Jena gained a vote share of 53.80% and defeated BJP’s Jagannath Pradahan whose vote share stood at 42.40%. The remaining candidates in the fray were INC’s Rajeeb Kumar Pattanaik with 2.70% of vote share and AITC’s Pradip Kumar Bhuyan with 0.20% vote share.
Voting History -2014 & 2019
In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 50107 votes and 54022 votes in 2019. On the other hand, BJP garnered 27718 votes in 2014 and 42580 votes in 2019 while INC received 11429 votes in 2014 and 2746 votes in 2019. AITC got 172 votes in the 2019 elections. BJD dominated the district of Khordha in 2019 by winning 7 seats. The remaining 1 seat was secured by INC.
