Voter Turnout

During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 17,03,222 and the turnout stood at 56.38%, in real numbers- 9,60,218 voters. 2019 witnessed a slight turnout increase; out of the 17,73,820 electors, 58.02 of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers- 10,29,112 voters.
Representation and Results

2019’s parliamentary election winner, SP’s Akhilesh Yadav gained a vote share of 60.40% and defeated BJP’s Dinesh Lal Yadav “Nirahua” whose vote share stood at 35.10%. The other prominent candidates in the fray were SBSP’s Abhimanyu Singh Sunny with 1.00% and RUC’s Anil Singh with 0.70% vote share.
Voting History –2014 & 2019

In 2014, SP won the constituency and earned 3,40,306 votes followed by 6,21,578 votes in the 2019 election victory. On the other hand, BJP garnered 2,77,102 votes in 2014 which increased to 3,61,704 votes in 2019.
By-Poll 2022
Lok Sabha by-polls were held in Azamgarh parliamentary constituency in 2022 and BJP’s Dinesh Lal Yadav “Nirahua” emerged as the winner in a close contest between him and SP’s Dharmendra Yadav.
