During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 220058 and the constituency witnessed a voter turnout that stood at 71.43%, in real numbers- 157197 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 243885 electors, 69.40% of voters chose to cast their vote. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-169251 voters.

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Bharatbhai Kikubhai Patel gained a vote share of 60.11% and defeated INC’s Tandel Narendrakumar Jagubhai whose vote share stood at 34.65%. The remaining candidate in the fray was independent candidate Patel Chetankumar Mangubhai with 2.35% vote share. 1.14% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 93658 votes that increased to 101736 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 57659 votes in 2012 and 58644 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Valsad in 2017 by winning 4 seats. The remaining 1 seat was won by INC.
