Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 172008 and the constituency recorded 77.90% of polling, in real numbers- 133990 voters. 2017 witnessed a negligible turnout decrease; out of the 198507 electors, 77.17% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers it was a reasonable jump-153195 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Arunsinh Ajitsinh Rana gained a vote share of 47.21% and defeated INC’s Patel Sulemanbhai Musabhai whose vote share stood at 45.50%. The remaining candidate in the fray was independent candidate Gohil Fatesangbhai Raysangbhai with 3.66% vote share. 1.83% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 68512 votes that increased to 72331 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 54194 votes in 2012 and 69703 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Bharuch in 2017 by winning 3 seats. INC and BTP managed to win 1 seat each in 2017 elections.
