Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 196394 and the turnout stood at 76.72%, in real numbers- 150670 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 218815 electors, 73.21% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-160194 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Niranjan Patel Purushottamdas gained a vote share of 50.64% and defeated BJP’s Chandrakant Dahyabhai Patel (C.D.Patel) whose vote share stood at 44.00%. The remaining candidate in the fray was BSP’s Gohel Harshadbhai Ishvarbhai with 1.05% vote share. 1.27% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017


In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 77312 votes that increased to 81127 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BJP garnered 65120 votes in 2012 and 70483 votes in 2017. BSP managed to get 2419 votes and 1684 votes in 2012 and 2017 respectively. INC placed itself in a position of dominance in the district of Anand in 2017 by winning 5 seats while BJP had to settle with 2 seats.
