Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 64,881 and the turnout stood at 74.61%, in real numbers- 48,410 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 69,678 electors, 79.30% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-55,253 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Anil Sharma gained a vote share of 56.62% and defeated INC’s Champa Thakur whose vote share stood at 38.05%. The other prominent candidate in the fray was BSP’s Narender Kumar with 0.79% vote share. 1.05% Of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 20,866 votes and 21,025 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BJP garnered 16,936 votes in 2012 and 31,282 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Mandi in 2017 by winning 9 seats. 1 seat was won by an independent candidate.
