Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 217644 and the turnout stood at 73.12%, in real numbers- 159135 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 234814 electors, 66.29% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers it translates to 155662 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Chavda Jawaharbhai Pethaljibhai gained a vote share of 56.90% and defeated BJP’s Nitinkumar (Tinubhai) Valjibhai Fadadu whose vote share stood at 37.78%. The remaining candidate in the fray was BSP’s Chandani Yunusbhai Adremanbhai with 1.00% vote share. 1.49% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 72879 votes that increased to 88570 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BJP garnered 68477 votes in 2012 and 58807 votes in 2017. BSP got 1549 votes in the election of 2017. INC dominated the district of Junagadh in 2017 by winning 4 seats. The remaining 1 seat was won by BJP.
