Mahanga assembly constituency is located in Cuttack district and consists of:
Mahanga block and 26 Gram panchayats (Fagola, Ramakrushnpur, Jignipur, Nischintakoili, Narendrapur, Nagaspur, Daudpur, Sukarpada, Asureswar, Taratasasan, Palisahi, Jamara, Orti, Kentalo, Baliapada, Kerilo, Buhalo, Kendupatana, Jhadeswarpur, Bandhakatia, Natakai, Kolanpur, Katikata, Katarpara, Jairampur, Barado and Sarapada) Nischintakoili block.

Voter Turnout
During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 236167 and the turnout stood at 76.84%, in real numbers- 181462 voters. 2019 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 262296 electors, 75.89% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-199062 voters.
Representation and Results
2019’s assembly election winner, BJD’s Pratap Jena gained a vote share of 53.30% and defeated BJP’s Sarada Prasad Padhan whose vote share stood at 38.40%. The remaining candidates in the fray were INC’s Debendra Kumar Sahoo with 7.50% of vote share and BSP’s Bijaya Kumar Samal with 0.30% vote share.
Voting History -2014 & 2019
In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 89531 votes and 106054 votes in 2019. On the other hand, BJP garnered 3572 votes in 2014 and 76469 votes in 2019 while INC received 22297 votes in 2014 and 14922 votes in 2019. BSP got 528 votes in the 2019 elections. BJD dominated the district of Cuttack in 2019 by winning 8 seats. INC managed to win 1 seat.
