Jhagadiya assembly constituency is located in Bharuch district and consists of:
- Jhagadia Taluka
- Valia Taluka
- Netrang taluka
Designated as a Scheduled Tribes Constituency.
During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 209013 and the turnout stood at 81.41%, in real numbers- 170149 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 232305 electors, 81.78% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers it amounts to 189974 voters.
Representation and Results
2017’s assembly election winner, BTP’s Vasava Chhotubhai Amarsinh gained a vote share of 59.93% and defeated BJP’s Ravjibhai Ishvarbhai Vasava whose vote share stood at 34.17%. The remaining candidate in the fray was JD(U)’s Chhotubhai A. Vasava with 2.66% Vote share. 2.82% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017
In 2012, JD(U) won the constituency and earned 66622 votes that significantly reduced to 5055 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BTP garnered 113854 votes in 2017 and went on to win the elections with a great margin. BJP secured 36473 and 64906 votes in 2012 and 2017 respectively. BJP dominated the district of Bharuch in 2017 by winning 3 seats. BTP and INC managed to score 1 seat each.
