Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 216606 and the constituency witnessed a voter turnout of 72.54%, in real numbers- 157127 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 244930 electors, 69.61% of voters chose to cast their vote. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-170484 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Rathva Sukhrambhai Hariyabhai gained a vote share of 45.58% and defeated BJP’s Rathva Jayantibhai Savajibhai whose vote share stood at 43.79%. The remaining candidate in the fray was independent candidate Rathva Surajben Bhagvatsinh with 1.94% Vote share. 3.61% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017


In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 61966 votes which did increase to 74649 votes in 2017 but were not enough to secure a victory this time. On the other hand, INC garnered 57693 votes in 2012 and 77701 votes to win 2017 elections. INC and BJP secured 2 seats and 1 seat respectively in the district of Chhota Udepur in 2017 elections.
