During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 241907 and the turnout stood at 73.45%, in real numbers- 177692voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 305157electors, 71.42% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-217933 voters.

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Thakor Shambhuji Chelaji gained a vote share of 49.32 and defeated INC’s Govindji Hiraji Solanki whose vote share stood at 44.02The remaining candidate in the fray was BSP’s Jadugar Piyushbhai Chaturbhai with 1.27% Vote share. 2.12 of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 87999 votes which increased to 107480 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 79988 votes in 2012 and 95942 votes in 2017. INC won 3 seats in the district of Gandhinagar in 2017. BJP scored 2 seats.
