During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 69,189 and the turnout stood at 73.62%, in real numbers- 50,938 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 76,540 electors, 78.95% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-60,427 voters.

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Rajesh Thakur gained a vote share of 56.23% and defeated INC’s Rakesh Kalia whose vote share stood at 40.80%. The other prominent candidate in the fray was independent candidate Subhash Sharma with 0.63% vote share. 0.65% Of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 23,581 votes and 24,657 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BJP garnered 18,684 votes in 2012 and 33,977 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Una in 2017 by winning 3 seats. INC secured 2 seats in the district.
